The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the second edition of its Stars Spotlight webinar, bringing together some of Africa’s biggest names in women’s football to inspire the next generation of players and strengthen the growth of the women’s game across the continent.
The virtual event will feature three of Africa’s most celebrated footballers: Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala, Zambia’s Barbra Banda, and Malawi’s Tabitha Chawinga. The trio will share their personal journeys, discuss the challenges they have overcome, and offer insights into the future of women’s football in Africa.
The webinar forms part of CAF’s broader commitment to promoting women’s football both on and off the pitch, while providing young players with opportunities to learn directly from athletes who have excelled at the highest level.
Celebrating Africa’s Football Icons
Each of the featured players has made history in African football and continues to inspire millions across the continent.
Asisat Oshoala remains one of the most decorated footballers Africa has ever produced. The Nigerian forward has won multiple African Women’s Player of the Year awards and has enjoyed a successful professional career in Europe, becoming one of the continent’s most recognizable sporting figures.
Barbra Banda has established herself as one of Africa’s most dangerous attackers. The Zambian captain has earned international recognition for her performances with both club and country, playing a key role in Zambia’s rise as one of the continent’s strongest women’s national teams.
Tabitha Chawinga has also enjoyed an outstanding career, becoming one of Africa’s most prolific goal scorers. The Malawian international has broken numerous records in European football and continues to demonstrate the growing quality of African talent on the global stage.
